This exhibition is devoted to difference. Difference is necessity. Without it is impossible to observe the world around us: how black differs from grey or how pigment flakes are different from pixels. In our final thesis exhibition we highlight the difference and make it a theme that unifies us.
Mediums divide us into two rough categories depending on whether we use our hands or machines to create our works. We bring this difference under your eyes by dividing the artworks themselves into two exhibitions according to technique. TR1 Kunshalle shows this year only photography, moving image and media art. Artworks in the fields of painting, drawing and sculpture are on exhibit in Art Center Mältinranta.

Toronto, Seoul and Tampere wish You welcome,
1 <3 -exhibition
11.5.-31.5.2012
The exhibition 1♥ features work by students from the OCAD University, the Chung-Ang University, and the Tampere University of Applied Sciences. 1♥ is produced by International Art Collaborations (INTAC), an initiative dedicated to developing student relations between art schools worldwide through experimental collaborations. The exhibition opens later on as part of the Scotiabank Contact Photography Festival, Toronto.
The title of the exhibition can be read either as "1 is less than 3," or "I Love." Inverted, the equation reads "3 is greater than 1," which is the aim of this collaboration across institutions.
